A small world.
A new
conversation.

Good people are closer than you think. See who’s around, share a waypoint when you’re ready, and say hello.

Meet Encountr

Nearby people. On your terms.

Encountr's actual demo home: a circular map, discovery toggle, and a list of sample nearby people.

LESS SCROLLING. MORE HELLOS.

Your next conversation
doesn’t need a feed.

Encountr starts with the place you’re already in.

See who’s around.

Switch discovery on. A circular map and a simple list show nearby people who also have discovery enabled.

Send an invitation.

A nearby profile isn’t an exact pin. Request a waypoint; the other person decides whether to share it.

Take it from there.

After they accept, use the shared waypoint to find each other. Sharing lasts up to 10 minutes and can be ended at any time.

A LOOK INSIDE

A little more real life.

These are live-widget screenshots of Encountr, not concept mockups. All people and map locations shown are demo data.

Residential demo state: discovery is paused here and resumes when you leave.

NOT EVERYWHERE NEEDS TO BE SOCIAL.

A little privacy,
automatically.

Discovery pauses in mapped residential areas. Out in the world again? A fresh outside-location update brings it back.

Residential boundaries come from OpenStreetMap. They are not complete: unmapped areas remain allowed, and there is no extra exclusion buffer.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
say hello.

Can anyone see my exact location?

Nearby results show approximate proximity. The app only provides a person waypoint after a sharing request is accepted. Either person can end sharing.

Does discovery run in the background?

That is the goal. The app uses native background location support, subject to permissions, battery settings, connectivity, and operating-system limits. It cannot guarantee instant encounters or uninterrupted alerts.

What happens in residential areas?

The server checks your location against existing mapped residential polygons. A positive match hides you from discovery and ends person sharing. Updates continue while discovery is enabled so the server can recognize when you leave.

Can I download Encountr yet?

Encountr is in development and is not publicly released. This site previews the current app using clearly labeled sample data. There are no public App Store or Google Play links yet.
